Castlemartin Corse

From Rob and Christine Lewis - dark female/imm marsh harrier this evening, also ring-tail hen harrier. (Last year, first "autumn" sighting of marsh harrier was on 5 August).

I was down at the Corse this morning - no harriers, but a (presumably family) party of 4 kestrels was hunting over Gupton fields and for a while - with much calling - mobbing a buzzard which was just minding its own business. I briefly had all 4 and the buzzard in my bins at the same time. They then split up and hunted over different parts of the site, the juvs calling. Another buzzard appeared later. One of the kestrels was an adult female, with missing primaries either side.
