The Teifi

Two Whimbrel and a late Spring record for the Teifi of Common Sandpiper today. Other interesting counts for late May on the Teifi include 40 Oystercatchers, c40 Shelduck plus breeders and the first  juveniles should appear any day. Black-headed Gull numbers are usually down to single figures by mid- May, up to 40 is the usual count this week.
On the Reserve, a Water Rail is still calling, and a Redstart appears to be holding territory.
Several broods of Blackbirds, Robins, Dunnocks Song Thrushes and Long-tailed Tits about.
