The Gann - Small Waders Increasing

On a falling tide this morning increasing numbers of small waders came in and were busy despite dog walkers - 24 Ringed Plovers, 18 Dunlin and 3 Sanderling, plus a single Redshank with 8 smart Black-tailed Godwits. Only a single Common Sandpiper was on the pools. A (the?) single Whimbrel was mainly on the river where there was also a strange small gull, probably a Mediterranean, uniformly pale grey wings, although it seemed to have jet black legs and was noticeably smaller than nearby Black-headeds:
