Iceland Gull

The Iceland Gull was sitting in splendid isolation in the main pool at the Gann this morning, not associating with the gull flocks in the river. Looking quite impressive in the sunshine. Also 18 Brent Geese, 4 Greenshank and more Wigeon than we normally see here. Also 10 Shelduck cackling and displaying. The pool was partially frozen as I walked out, and had completely melted by the time I walked back about half an hour later! No Curlew, Oystercatcher, Little Grebe or Goldeneye.
